The three founding members were visionary entrepreneurs who visited the Algarve over 20 years ago to look at investment land. When they saw the site at Bago de Uva they instantly envisaged a naturally landscaped course nestling in the countryside. They took their concept to South African golf course architect Peter Sauerman who designed the course and with the backing and support of a small group of investors and a devoted handful of builders, they lovingly built and landscaped the design to sympathetically integrate into the surrounding scenery.
Set within unspoilt undulating countryside, the greens and fairways of the course have been carefully placed to balance the dual demands of the golfer and the environment, with indigenous planting throughout creating a beautiful backdrop and some challenging obstacles. The course requires careful thought along the 5862 metres (6411) yards from the back tees and requires a deft touch on the short game.
